Meirion Jones
Meirion Jones is a Welsh artist and former educator based in Ceredigion. After a decade as a Welsh, P.E., and History teacher at Fishguard High School, where he played a key role in curriculum development and school liaison, he transitioned to a full-time career as an artist in 2004. As a self-employed artist, he collaborates with
galleries, organizes exhibitions, and manages commissions. He also served as an agent to renowned artist Aneurin Jones. A passionate advocate for Welsh culture,
Meirion is a member of the Preseli Festival committee and regularly gives talks tocommunity groups.
In 1990, he was awarded the prestigious Chair for poetry at the
Urdd National Eisteddfod. He holds an MPhil in Linguistics from the University of Wales, with research focusing on the spoken dialects of Cardigan.
Fluent in both Welsh and English, Meirion continues to contribute to the arts and cultural landscape of Wales.
