April 2026 Tabernacle Updates
Last month came the sad news that one of our strongest supporters - Kathleen Martin - had passed away. She was well known around the town and had been involved with the Community Bookshop, Cymdeithas Aberteifi and its companion based in Aberaeron along with the Albion celebrations that were held just before COVID. JigSo and the local croquet club were other interests. She ran craft courses and was on alert to tell neighbours of potential flooding along the Strand. As you can

March 2026 Tabernacle Updates
Apart from Easter, the big event in April is Barley Saturday which is on April 25 th . Before the event we invite you to have a cup of tea or coffee with us at the vestry so we can share with you some of the recent developments. That’s not to say that everything in the vestry is finished; there is still much to be done such as painting and pulling up the carpets which we aim to do in August. But enough has been done for adult education classes to begin after Easter as well as

February 2026 Tabernacle Updates
We’re pleased to share with you that a tenant moved into the cottage at the beginning of March. After Easter, we will be arranging weekly activities for adults living with dementia (maximum 10 initially) which will be facilitated by qualified ‘micros’. The sessions will provide respite opportunities for their unpaid carers to enable them to spend in whichever way they choose. January 2026 Tabernacle Updates
Our second tenant will move into the cottage in the middle of February. There is a little bit more painting to do and then, hopefully, a contented tenant. All of the electrical wiring in the chapel, the vestry and the cottage has been checked and certified and the buildings are now watertight so no more soggy carpets or water dripping on you as you wander around. Whilst we still have no news about the CADW grant, we have been successful in getting a Ceredigion Age Friendly

December 2025 Tabernacle Updates
As we approach the end of the year, we are happy to say that our first tenant, the adult education department, will start running courses from February half term. These will be held in the vestry. Our grateful thanks to Cynnal y Cardi for a grant that allowed us to purchase sufficient chairs, tables and equipment for courses to start. We have just heard that our grant application to the Architectural Heritage Fund for a viability study on the Hwb Aberteifi project has been

November 2025 Tabernacle Updates
The cottage is largely refurbished now. It has been painted, a few spots of dampness have been sorted and touch wood, we will have a tenant in the new year. There are just a few things to do inside and some repairs to the outside of the building as it faces Pendre but these can be done whilst a tenant moves in as it shouldn't affect them too much. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with the painting and repairs. The pigeon problem is still a niggling issue in the Taberna

Now that the ceilings above the two entrance doors to the tabernacl have been repaired, we are moving on to the next stage. This is refurbishing the cottage so that a tenant can move in. if all goes to the plan the cottage works will be completed by the end of the month. We are looking for a tenant so if know of someone please tell us. The next item on the refurbish list is to remove the pigeon droppings and the pigeons themselves from the vestry so that we can make the vestr
