As we move into the final months of 2025, the Tabernacle project is soaring to new heights. September has been full of exciting developments, showcasing the dedication of everyone involved and the growing support from the community. This blog post offers a detailed look at the key milestones and updates achieved this month.

The Share Offer by the tabernacle has been successful. More was raised than we had hoped for and that has enabled us to undertake some emergency repairs as well.

A giant thank-you to those 103 people people who loaned us the money to go ahead and buy the tabernacle for the community

It took much longer than we expected to complete the purchase of the building but eventually - on July 25 - we succeeded.

Just after the purchase, we had a visit from our local MS, Elin Jones and the leader of Plaid Cymru, Rhun ap Iorwerth, to hear our initial plans. We expect more people will be visiting over the next few months

Prior to the purchase, we had already received quotes to repair the worst of the internal damage which is just inside the front doors and where the flat rooves had rotted and had partly fallen in.

Scaffolding is up and for the past couple of weeks , work had gone ahead to replace/repair the rooves and make that part of the building watertight.

Whilst the work goes on we have a busy time meeting with Ceredigion Planning Department (the tabernacle is Grade Two listed) to understand more about how what alterations can be made and with some grant making bodies so that we can go the next stage and raise money for the refurbishment of the building.

But most importantly, we could have got this far with the support of the community who rallied around at meetings and then loaned us the money to go ahead. To repeat, we are grateful, we thank you all and we’ll keep you updated here each month."
