Apart from Easter, the big event in April is Barley Saturday which is on April 25 th .

Before the event we invite you to have a cup of tea or coffee with us at the vestry so

we can share with you some of the recent developments. That’s not to say that

everything in the vestry is finished; there is still much to be done such as painting

and pulling up the carpets which we aim to do in August. But enough has been done

for adult education classes to begin after Easter as well as supporting those who are

caring for those with early onset dementia. That project starts on April 15 th . There will

be trained people on hand to occupy the time whilst carers can spend a couple of

hours by themselves in the town.

We eagerly await the result of grant applications so that we can get on with painting

and refurbishing the outside of the chapel and the first of those is due on April 8 th . As

it is matching fund grant, we have applied for a Transforming Towns grant but we

won’t hear about that until late May.

In the meantime, a feasibility study and business plan being prepared by History

Ventures is expected later this month and then we can let you know what has been

suggested and seek your views. Whether we’ll get it in time for the Barley Saturday

coffee/tea morning is something we don’t know yet.

In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you on April 25th.
