Kathleen Martin

With a career spanning 30 years in teaching and senior school management, she has specialized in physical education, mathematics, and early childhood education, including research at the French Ministry of Education on language learning for young children. A long-standing member of the WI, she has served on the Ceredigion and National Public Affairs Committees, representing Ceredigion at international conferences and working on women's empowerment projects in Outer Mongolia and South Africa.

 

Passionate about community development, she has
chaired Cymdeithas Aberteifi and Cymdeithas Aberaeron, is a trustee of JigSo Children’s Centre, and plays an active role in local organizations, including the Cardigan Community Centre and Cardigan Croquet Club.

​

A dedicated conservationist, she was a founder member of the London Wildlife Trust and has demonstrated traditional crafts at St Fagans Museum.

Now based in Cardigan, she continues to contribute to cultural and social initiatives while pursuing an MA. She is fluent in English and French and is learning Welsh.
