Richard Jones

Richard ‘Oernant’ Jones is a dedicated dairy farmer, and an active community leader based in Cardigan, Ceredigion. Alongside farming since 1992, he has served as a Town Councillor since 2014 and was Mayor of Cardigan in 2017. Passionate about
local culture and events, he founded the Cardigan Carnival Committee and played a key role in reviving the town’s carnival, Christmas lights display, and Fair Day
market.

He is also a playwright and actor with Cwmni Drama Llandoch, a member of the Glannau Teifi poetry team, and an organiser of the Welsh music festival, Gŵyl Crug Mawr.

 

A graduate in Agriculture from Bangor University, Richard is fluent in
Welsh and English.
